La Dolce Vita
I recently spent 4 fabulous days in Capri with my boyfriend & we had the greatest time! Capri is one of the most magical places in the entire world! To put it simply…there are NO bad days. Once you step foot onto the island, you automatically live the motto, “La Dolce Vita.” Well, after the 1,000,000,000 steps you climb to get to the the main square.
One of our favorite memories took place at La Fontelina Beach Club. Envision yummy pasta, delicious wine, picturesque blue and white umbrellas, and scores of glamorous people. Eating huge bowls of gnocchi at the beach is something I just might have to copy for summers in America 🙂
I want to share my experience so that if you ever find yourself in Capri, you will 100% go to La Fontelina Beach Club.
To get to La Fontelina, you have the choice of either taking a boat or walking down millions of steps. Since our diet consisted of 95% pizza and pasta, we decided to make the trek down the walking path. Upon our arrival, we had a delicious lunch on the terrace, overlooking the blue and white umbrellas and the breathtakingly beautiful Faraglioni rocks. To be honest, we felt like we were starring in a Dolce & Gabbana “Light Blue” perfume ad (if only).
After devouring our pasta and burrata, we made our way down to the beach area. Enjoying the day at La Fontelina costs you around €24, per person. The fee grants you access to the changing rooms, a towel, a chair/sunbed, and the beach. We did not utilize the boat, to and from Marina Piccola, but I do know it costs a few euros – so bring cash if you are planning on the boat!
Lounging in front of the Faraglioni Rocks is a once in a lifetime experience. You do not realize how massive and gorgeous they are until you view them at sea level.
They are gorgeous from above but spectacular from below.
All your guides to Capri have been so helpful!! We’re going end of the August (woof crowded, I know) but curious about la fontelina and if you made a reservation/tips for getting a good spot. It looks incredible!
Hi! Did you need a reservation at La Fontelina or were you able to walk in? I tried to make a reservation on the website and it requires a minimum of three days. Thanks!
