The word “home” has taken on a whole new meaning since the beginning of the pandemic. Pre-covid, I certainly spent more time at my workplace than I did in my own studio. Fast forward to September 2020 and I was moving into a new apartment – a one bedroom with a balcony on the 10th floor of a brand new complex – where I would not only live, but work too. Because my mood is highly affected by my surrounding environment, I knew I needed to create a sanctuary for myself in this space. So, it was time to start sourcing furniture, and not just post-grad-living-in-a-tiny-studio furniture, but real, lasting pieces that would be a true reflection of me and my style.
I had never personally owned a sofa before. My previous studio was so small that my “living room” consisted of one armchair, which was usually inhabited by a pile of clothes. With a one bedroom apartment, the dream of having a sofa finally became a reality. But, when I began my hunt for the perfect sofa, it all quickly turned into a nightmare – I was so overwhelmed. There was a seemingly never-ending online catalog of options, thousands of mixed reviews, warnings to not purchase a couch before testing it IRL, and on top of all that, my inability to find anything I liked without an extremely hefty price tag. I was sure by the time I found something suitable, my lease would be up and I would be on to the next unfurnished living situation that awaits.

But then, I found Castlery. I was sitting on the floor of my sofa-less apartment scrolling through Instagram when I stumbled upon their page. My customer service experience with Castlery was exceptional. I love that you are able to receive up to 3 swatches of fabric for free so you can see and feel the different materials. It was so fun to customize my sofa by selecting the fabric and the finish on the legs, too. I chose the Dove Gray from their Surro Collection, a 100% polyester fabric that is soft and velvety to the touch (and easy to clean!). For the legs, I picked the beautiful brass option, which I’m so glad I did – they are so chic! From the moment I placed my order, to the prompt and seamless delivery experience, and finally the simple assembly of the Loveseat and Ottoman, it was all such an easy and pleasant experience thanks to Castlery.
I’ve had my Adams Loveseat and Ottoman for over a month now and honestly, I love them more and more every day. As the glowing reviews promised, this sofa is pretty AND comfortable. I’m obsessed with the velvety soft feel of the fabric, the super deep seats, and the cozy back cushions. I’m so glad I decided to get the ottoman, too – its a great size and so versatile – I love that I can make this loveseat feel like a sectional!
While spending so much time at home right now, having these beautiful pieces really make me happy. My apartment has become a place where I can work comfortably, cozy up and enjoy my morning coffee, lounge and watch Netflix, hang out with friends, and snuggle with my little French Bulldog. Thanks to Castlery, this space finally feels like home.
